Do you have enough?

Life Insurance……do you have enough?

We are excited to letter everyone know we are now approved with the Texas Deparment of Insurance to protect our clients with life insurance. We have access to dozens of the most stable and most competitive life insurance companies in the market.

As a former Allstate agency owner (over 14 years), I am not new to providing life insurance to clients, however this is a new coverage offering for Lone Star Insurance Agency. Please take a moment to read the letter BELOW from a dear friend of mine who lost her husband (and one of my best friends) Dan back in 2004. She was very kind to write this letter for me a few years ago but I have not shared it until recently.  (On a lighter note I am happy to say that this friend is now happily remarried and enjoying raising a total of 6 six kids now.)

If you have questions or want more info on life insurance don’t hesitate to contact us.

Be blessed, James Brown (along with Dawn, Rick and Jeremy at Lone Star Insurance Agency)

Hello, my name is Cissy. I am 35 years old and have two young girls, Nicole, age 8 and Megan, age 5. I lost my husband, Dan, to cancer in November 2004. Dan was 42 years old. Dan and I married June 19, 1993. We started our family five years after we got married. Once Nicole was born Dan decided it would be a good idea to plan for the unexpected. We purchased a life insurance policy at that point. It was enough to cover burial and pay off our home should anything happen to either one of us. Dan went back to college and received his degree from TCU in Business Finance. After a few different jobs he started working for First Command Bank. His primary job there was a Financial Analyst. Basically he did life planning and handled all the widow plans for the military. Once he started working in this field we decided that having just enough would not work. We increased our policies to make sure both our children would be able to pay for college and we would also be able to pay off everything we had including student loans, house, etc. In 2003 Dan received a report on his blood work that was abnormal. After months of going to doctors they could not determine what exactly was wrong so he started taking medicines to increase his white cell count. In January 2004 Dan was diagnosed with Stage 4 adenocarcinoma of the esophagus. It had already spread to his liver and could not be treated with surgery. He was given 3 months to 1 year life expectancy. This was not anything we had ever anticipated, but we had planned ahead with the life insurance policies. We were able to draw from our policies enough money to pay off as much as we could and was able to take a family trip with our two young daughters to Disney World before he got too sick. Dan passed away on November 8, 2004. My life and my daughters lives were changed forever. The one blessing through all of this is I was able to focus on the time I had left with my husband and not worry about how I was going to take care of my girls. Life insurance is not something you want to think about or think you will need until you need it. Dan always said it was something he could do for us if anything did happen.
